In response to these crazy times, we want to provide a space for community, inspiration and learning. It started as a one time Happy Hour in March 2020 to share community and hope in isolation weekly. It is now every month with guests from all facets of the industry sharing insight, wisdom and resources.

Kelly Edwards

TV Executive & Screenwriter

Kelly Edwards has worked for every major studio in Hollywood. After a long career as a film and television executive, she decided to transition from executive to writer.

As the SVP of Talent Development for Warner Media Entertainment, Kelly Edwards oversaw emerging artist programs for HBO, HBOMax, and Turner. Prior to HBO, Edwards served as a corporate diversity executive at Comcast/NBC Universal where she oversaw over 20 divisions.

Edwards' career has spanned both television and film having produced a Hallmark MOW and a network drama series after serving as the SVP of Comedy for UPN. She graduated from Vassar College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and MFA in Screenwriting at Emerson College.

She has been a Sundance Episodic Lab fellow and is the President of the non-profit organization she founded, Colour Entertainment. Her book, The Executive Chair: A Writer's Guide to TV Series Development, is an Amazon Best Seller. She currently writes for the Fox drama, OUR KIND OF PEOPLE.

Expert Insight: Understanding Film Tax Incentives!

Film Commissioner Katie Schuck

Katie Schuck has a very distinguished career reputation, recognized for having worked on feature films, commercials, studio television productions, and nationally syndicated talk shows. She currently is the newly appointed Film Commissioner for Dallas, Texas, where she works for the Visit Dallas team. In this position, she utilizes her location-scouting expertise to find productions their best-fit setting. She most recently has worked on Clint Eastwood's last feature film Juror #2 and the upcoming Simon West comedy Bride Hard, starring Rebel Wilson and Justin Hartley.

Previous to this role, she worked for more than eight years with the Savannah Regional Film Commission where she served as its Assistant Director. In this former role, she contributed to many major productions, including Captain America: Brave New World (Marvel), May December (Netflix), and Manhunt (Apple TV+).
